Misadventures Part 14
The Middle East-Part 3

                    Israel / Jordan / Syria
Well, if you enjoyed the part 13 update, this one may put you to sleep.
I visited some interesting places, but there was not much to see, and I didn't really have any misfortunes, here it is anyways.

I chose to fly to Israel in a 727, I checked the map and looked at a few airports, I decided Tel Aviv would be the best place to land, then take a smaller plane to explore the holy land.
The flight to Tel Aviv went well and ended with a perfect approach and landing.
I switched over to a Kingair and flew around Tel Aviv, from there I continued on to Jeruselum, Bethlehem and the Dead sea.
There was a nice cargo ship in the harbor at Tel Aviv, and there was the cool gold temple in Jeruselum.
I was really surprised that the Dead Sea was actually below sea level in the sim, kinda wierd to see the altimeter going backwards from 0 feet ASL.
I cruised around the Dead Sea a little then headed for Amman, Jordan, nothing to see there so I headed back to Tel Aviv.

I then aquired a Greatest Airliners Israir 737 to fly to Damascus Syria in, perfect flight, approach and landing.
I had downloaded some airport scenery for Damascus which didn't seem to get along with the rest of the program too well, because when I asked for progressive taxi instructions, they had me going across open desert instead of using the taxiways, and I also noticed AI aircraft driving right through buildings and such.
I buzzed around Damascus in my trusty Kingair and there wasn't much to see, so I just carried on to Beruit Lebanon, I had also added some airport scenery for Beruit which was very nice, and the way the city is built on the surrounding hills was kinda cool too, other than that, there is not much to report.

                                 Cyprus / Turkey
I didn't really know if I was still going to be in the Middle East once I flew to Cyprus and Turkey so I posed the question on the SimV forum, I got some mixed responses and decided to do a little investigation and discovered that Turkey is in fact considered the Middle East, at least most of Turkey, apparently extreme eastern Turkey in considered Europe.
Anyways, I made a stop on the island of Cyprus in my Turkish airlines 737, nice island, but nothing special, I flew around the island in a learjet I think, and once I was back on the ground I packed up the 737 for the trip to Ankara Turkey.
I had a nice flight, noting what an awesome country Turkey appeared to be, plenty of mountains mixed with desert and lakes, after another perfect approach and landing in Ankara, I performed my usual routine of flying around town in a kingair, and once again, nothing much to see.
On to Istanbul, I made another flawless flight approach and landing at Istanbul, I'm getting too good at this piloting thing, I guess I should be though after flying approximentaly 53,000 miles so far.
A flight around Istanbul revealed a couple of bridges which I couldn't resist flying under, but even then I made it without incident, I flew back to the airport and started working out the details for my trip into Europe.
I am expecting Europe to be quite a bit more scenic than a lot of the places I have visited in the past few months, I guess I will find out soon enough.

Well, sorry for the not-so-exciting update, but you just never know how things are going to go, and unfortunetly everything went just too good this leg of the trip, and there was just not much to see.
One good thing is that I have finally made it to Europe, the fun might just be beginning.
Until next time..Paz out.
